AgriStability Interim Applications Now Available
December 12, 2008
TOBIQUE-MACTAQUAC – The 2009 AgriStability Interim Application is now available on the AgriStability Website. Mike Allen, Member of Parliament for Tobique-Mactaquac is pleased that producers in New Brunswick, as well as in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Yukon, will be in a position to take advantage of this program. “Times have certainly been tough for many producers in the riding and various other parts of Canada. We realize this and are acting to assist on a number of fronts including access to this key part of the Government’s Growing Forward program,” Mr. Allen said. “I encourage all producers who are in need to apply.” Applications for the program are now available on the AgriStability Website at www.agr.gc.ca/agristability or by calling toll-free at 1-866-367-8506. Participants may be eligible if their estimated 2009 margin declines by more than 15 percent below their reference margin and they:
The six months of farming activity and production cycle requirements may be waived if they could not be met as a result of disaster circumstances. If this is the case, the producer should attach a letter to their application to explain the situation. The deadline to submit an application is March 31, 2010. “These interim payments provide producers with earlier access to AgriStability program payments,” explained Mr. Allen. For more information, visit the program Website at www.agr.gc.ca/agristability or contact the Administration toll free at 1-866-367-8506. |
